Ame, Dixon y Henrik Schwarz recopilan y mezclan un nuevo cdmix / 2×12,estas son sus experiencias.“Cuando empezamos a pensar sobre la recopilación, teníamos en mente la idea de juntar una gran selección de Minimal Techno con material de principio de los 90s, material que nos inspiró, como Robert Hood, Dan Bell, Plastikman, Pansonic, Mike Ink…Mientras trabajamos en el proyecto tuvimos la sensación de que había una gran y influyente musica minimalista mucho antes de que el Techno empezara.Entonces estuvimos entusiasmados por combinar la musica desde los pioneros de la electronica, con temas de los abuelos del minimal techno en una forma muy moderna. En la musica minimalista hay mucho espacio entre los sonidos y esos espacios te dan muchas oportunidades para una interpretacion propia.

The Grandfather Paradox es una teoria cientifica sobre los viajes en el tiempo y fue descrito por primera vez por el escritor de ciencia ficción Rene Barjavel en su libro “Le Voyageur Imprudent”. Tomamos sugerencias desde ahi dado que sentimos como que estuvieramos viajando hacia atras en el tiempo y manipulando musica vieja con los conocimientos modernos. El hecho de que hicimos todo esto con el merecido respeto a los originales nos deja bastante seguros de que los resultados estan trayendo algo nuevo e interesante a los viejos temas, transportando el pasado hacia aqui y ahora.”

About The Grandfather Paradox

When we first started thinking about the compilation, we had in mind the idea to put together a great minimal techno selection with stuff from the early 90s, which really inspired us, like Robert Hood, Dan Bell, Plastikman, Pansonic and Mike Ink to name a few. Whilst working on the project we had the feeling that there is so much more great and influential minimal music from way before the techno thing started.

So we were very excited to combine the music from the electronic pioneers, with the tracks from the minimal techno godfathers in a very modern way. In Minimal Music there is so much (space) in between the sounds and the space that gives you a lot of opportunities for an own interpretation.

The Grandfather Paradox is a scientific theory about time travelling and was first described by the science fiction writer Rene Barjavel in his book - Le Voyageur Imprudent. We took suggestions out of that because we felt like we are travelling back in time and manipulating the old music with modern knowledge. The fact that we did all this with the deserved respect to the originals makes us quite sure that the results are bringing something new and interesting to the old tracks and transport the past into the here and now.
